David Gilmour
Of The Pink Floyd

'It's a tale without an end
But the end is there for all to see
And if the end weren't so real
Coming 'round and 'round again on me
I guess it's all about my pride
I want to be there at the kill
But with or without God on my side
I know that I really will'
-'I Can't Breathe Anymore'

Dave Gilmour came on the scene in 1968,
replacing Syd, who had become better
acquainted with acid tabs than guitar tabs.

Dave's contribution is evident in the smooth
mystical tones of Floyd, and in the dual vocals
he and Roger performed.

One can see the change of direction in Floyd
after the group reassembled without Roger in the 80s.
Albums like Momentary Lapse of Reason and Division Bell
are prime examples of the dark fluidity Dave is known
for. Examples of this can be seen in his solo albums.

He was born March 6, 1947.
